Address users by name using variables

In this guide, we will walk you through how to personalize your chatbot, using variables.

Let's create a Text Question that asks for the user's name. Click on Text Question, edit your question as you wish and then click on Save. This will be our first data point.

Use the Email Type to create a second question, designed to collect an email address. At the end of this question's text, include the @ symbol. This triggers a list of previous questions. Select your name question from the list.

We have now created a variable. Variables can use the answer from any of your previous questions. Let's preview the chatbot.

As you can see, the Email Type is now personalized according to the answer to the name question.
